    Marketing your Business

Marketing is all about promoting your products or services to potential clients and customers. To fully reap the benefits of business marketing is the way icing is to the cake. Without it you may turn the cake away.

Basic principles can be used to promote your service and products. We now have available the internet, face book and twitter whereas years ago they were not available. The principles of marketing remain the same.

We will discuss the different forms of marketing. Direct marketing are direct forms of contact wither, direct mail, telemarketing, and messaging. Advertising is the placing of ads in magazines, articles, radio, TV, and other places where your market may read or view. Internet marketing is all about Search Engine optimisation, Web page optimisation, Article Writing, Social networking and a whole lot of other uses. It involves boosting your brand and making things go viral overnight. Trade shows can also help as these clients are looking for this type of product or service when they visit.

There are many different methods you could use so try a few and see which ones give you good results. If it works just magnify it to magnify its profits.

Identify your customer’s then market to the needs of that market. Understanding your customers will help you market and sell your products and services to them. Realise that your products need to be in line with the needs of your clients. If they don’t need it, you probably won’t sell it.

Your products or services must give the customer a reason to act.  A promotion or deal is a great way to have your clients buys from you sooner. Encourage clients to try your products or services and if they like they will more than likely keep buying from you.

Run smaller tests on your marketing. Don’t spend too big as they rewards may not come it as you had hoped. Test the market and see what response you get, if you get a good one, magnify your marketing.

Networking is a great way to use other people’s strengths. Ideas and marketing opportunities may present themselves to you in networking. Joint ventures and other business opportunities also arise.

Don’t discount your product to win clients. You will end up in a price war. You want to illustrate your value in the service or product. Most people will spend more if they see value in it. It’s similar to a doctor… Would you wait 3 weeks to see your local GP? Well some people will wait 6 months to see a specialist. If you can show your specialist product or service people will wait for it, spend more for it and tell more people about it. Discount it and you will be dropping the value of it.

Customer care and after sales service is also important to many customers. Try to not just get an immediate sale but build a relationship with the client.

As we stated before try a few different marketing ideas. Don’t stick with one. Be careful of season developments, generation changes, or even industry developments. Read news articles and stay awake in the industry you are in.

Nothing beats good experience built up over a number of years. Everybody makes mistakes, but as long as you learn from them, you will become a better marketer in the long run.
