    Marketing is the ability to promote your products and services in such a way that it creates interest, branding and promotion to attract new and existing clients.

    The principles of marketing stay the same regardless of the generation we live in. We know have face book, twitter and a global way of communicating but the principles of marketing have not changed. The fundamentals are always the reason for success.

    There are many different avenues to market your business. You can try direct marketing which involves a direct approach to contact your clients either by phone, email or mail. You could also choose to advertise within a magazine, newspaper radio, billboard, or TV. The advertising medium is about branding and recognition. You could also use the internet which offers a 24/7 worldwide audience and the possibilities of growing your network or business overnight. Trade shows can also be useful as they are created to apply to a specific target market. Being in the middle of this market may help promote your business

    Many different ideas can reap you different rewards so try a few different ways out and see what’s the best return.

    Learning about the needs and wants of your customers are vital for your marketing campaign. If you don’t understand your clients you won’t know what angle to promote your products and services. If your client doesn’t need or want it how are you going to sell it? Learn about the needs and wants then use them to market your products and services.

    Giving your clients an offer or promotion is a great marketing trick. By having the client feel like they need to act, you can have your customers emotionally buying.

    Some people say you have to spend money to make money, and to a point this is true. However with your marketing campaign you don’t want to spend heaps and get a little return.     Value is build up in services and products by experience, examples, testimonials and stories about the service or product. Don’t discount the price as you are discounting the service or product. Build it up with the above ideas.

    Relationship is important in business and your client’s relationship with your business should be vital. Don’t just make a sale the once off, referral and repeat business is the best business as there are more profit margins in this sort of client. You didn’t spend on marketing to attract and you have the clients coming to you. Build relationships and you will do well in business.

    Things can change from time to time. Be careful of industry changes, developments or seasonal influences. These things can change your business overnight. Stay ahead of the pack by reading industry related material and magazines.
