Learning Styles
What are Learning Styles?
A learning style is the way in which we learn. Adults and children learn in a variety of ways. Depending on your learning style you will be able to learn different amounts of information through a variety of training styles.
Why should I find out what type I am?
By finding out how you learn, you can benefit greatly by increasing the rate at which you learn. A good trainer will identify which learning style you have and present the material to suit your individual learning style. If you also find out you have a high visual style yet low auditory style this may identify listening skills that may require developing. By understanding how you do things, you are able to do things better.
The types of learning styles
Kinaesthetic- This type of learning style is for those who actively like to be involved in the learning process. Group activities, discussions and hands on training will be the best way for this style to learn. this style may learn more from simulations, role plays and hands on experience.
Visual- Learning experience from visual input, videos, slideshows, uniforms, presentations, written information and thrive on learning through discovery. This style prefers entertainment, being shown what to do and visualising the training.
Auditory- These are great listeners. Audio files, discussion and music can really help this style of learning. This style may learn more by listening to instructions or audio training.
