Becoming Confident for Success

What is Confidence?

People can show confidence in their body language or the way they hold themselves. Confidence is the belief and a healthy self image of oneself. Some people are born and brought up quite confident, others may have to learn this as their experiences have been different or impacting. We realise that some things we hold important when we are younger lose their importance over time. We also realise being happy inside is more important also and this article can help provide some information on how to do that.

A relationship may be taking control of your confidence. If you are in a relationship or have a relationship with someone who is preventing you from a healthy self esteem talk to them. Communication is the key to helping others help you also. Some managers or employers can make their staff feel inferior and low self esteemed. Create a healthy and up building workplace if this sounds like yours.

Are you insecure? This may be a reason for low self esteem or confidence. What are you insecure about? Why? When we look at the reasons for why we are insecure we may find we are putting things out of perspective. Realise that all of us from time to time worry about our weight, looks or something else. A lot of the time it is irrelevant and in fact no one else even cares about these things. Be careful not to create something negative out of something that doesn’t even matter.

Communication can be affected by the low confidence as normally people with low self esteem can be hesitant to speak to others, they may be nervous in speaking and negative body language can also be communicating the esteem level. Some people will try to pretend they are confident and is a great start to becoming confident however may come across fake to start off with if they try too hard.

You can develop your confidence as many have learned to do so. Confidence is a skill that many have been able to learn and use. Developing you to respect others and also share your own ideas and thoughts is a healthy way to build relationships.

Looking at the things you can do and not the things you can’t do will help build your confidence. Being in control means learning how you can make yourself feel good when you need. Internal talk is important part of getting the desire results. How can you be confident is you tell yourself that you can’t do anything? You need to look at the things you can do, tell yourself that you are doing them well and reward yourself for each that you do.

Going out of your comfort zone can help you also build ability, experience and your knowledge. With these you can feel empowered and confident. Many speakers understand by knowing their material they feel more confident. So likewise knowing your surroundings, learning new things, will help you become confident in doing them.

In the workplace you may need to bring your confidence up to be able to share ideas and thoughts. If you have a great idea does not feel fearful to share it. Confident people can share thoughts and also respect others ideas also. By lack of action you may feel you are not getting anywhere. Your confidence will help magnify your ability and action. Become passionate also.

Pretend to be confident. This helps. You have probably heard the saying “Fake it till you make it” well it’s kind of true. Emotion is contributed by motion. That means if you stand confident and act confident you’re going to feel it. If you’re feeling confident guess what? You probably are. So faking it can help to build a new attitude and behaviour until it takes hold and then you won’t have to think about it anymore.
